IU Rugby 60th Reunion Weekend

August 26-28, 2022

Register for the Banquet:

Join us at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, August 27 at 5:00pm for dinner, fundraising auction, and a celebration of IU Rugby! The $40 (before sales tax) ticket price covers a catered meal and is eligible for a $10 tax deduction.

Donate to the Team:

Want to become a Member of Friends of Hoosier Rugby? Make a tax-deductible donation to the short-term or long-term needs of the program now. Each donor can choose for their funds to go to the team’s short-term expenses, the IU Rugby Endowment, or a percentage allocation to both.

Tax Recommendations for Giving:

  1. The Men's Rugby Endowment:
    If you live in Indiana, contribute a portion of your donation directly to the Men's Rugby Endowment due to the tax advantage: if single, you receive a $100 state tax credit for the first $200 that you donate, and if you are married it is a $200 credit for the first $400.

    If you are donating more than this and are an Indiana Resident, at least take advantage of this option for the first portion of your Club contribution. You essentially double this portion of your donation. Then use the FOHR option for the remainder of your donation, making sure to specify that you want 100% of your contribution to go to the Endowment.

    Currently, Endowment donations are only accepted over the phone, at 812-855-8311. We are actively working to restore the online process we had in place.

  2. Friends of Hoosier Rugby (FOHR):
    If you don't live in Indiana, give via FOHR only (using “Donate to IU Rugby” button above). Please make sure to specify the percentage (up to 100%) of your contribution you want to go to the Endowment.

    4:45PM - Future of IU Rugby Discussion:
    Location: Graduate Hotel (4th Floor Terrace), 210 E Kirkwood Ave.
    Note: (Personal beverages allowed on terrace, but not allowed in backup interior room if raining).

    7:00PM - The Warm Up:
    The festivities begin! Location: Nick's English Hut, 423 E Kirkwood Ave.

  • 10:00AM - Parade to Pitch:
    Parade Departure - From Graduate Hotel to Pitch.

    11:00AM to 4:00PM - Matches:
    Location: Sembower Recreational Sports Complex, 1200 N Fee Lane.

    Kickoff times as follows:

    • 11:00AM - Women’s / Old Girls

    • 1:00PM - Men’s

    • 3:00PM - Old Boys

    5:00PM - Banquet and Party:
    Location: Elks Lodge (enter from Walnut St door), 400 N Walnut St.

    Banquet Itinerary:

    • 5:00PM - Elks Lodge Banquet begins with cash bar, silent auction, and history of IU Rugby

    • 6:00PM - Buffet line for food is open

    • 6:50PM - Phones on silent to begin speaker presentations of the last 60 & next 60 years

      • MC: Dike Drummond

      • Speakers: Mark Van Trees, Jeff Ehman, Peyton Wall, Vaughn Mitchell, James Tyson, Luke Gross, Johnny Bryant, Evan Williams, Mark Cuban.

    • 8:20PM - Close the Silent auction and announce winners

    • 8:40PM - Kangaroo Court begins

  • 10:00AM - Breakfast at Ski’s (Optional):
    Location: 1105 E Sheridan Dr
    Note: This is a “pitch in” brunch. Please help our gracious hosts by bringing food/beverages and assisting with setup/cleanup.
